Ella's Wedding Book of Laughter. By Caleb Jarikre.

Ella and Dayo.

" Marriage is a marathon, not a 100 metre dash. There's always room for self-improvement. We are living in an imperfect world with imperfect people. Sometimes we say or do things that hurt the people we love.

"Fight your battle with wisdom. Don't say things that cannot be withdrawn again. Forgive and let go. It's difficult to forget, but you can let go.If you wait to forget, you can never forgive. May God give us grace to practice these tips"

Practical words of wisdom from Bishop Dr. Chris of Our Daily Manna, exhorting as he officiated the wedding ceremony of Ella Nkem Dibia and Adedayo Obafemi Awojobi at Manna Prayer Mountain, Ogudu-Orioke, Lagos on Saturday 6th of February, 2016.

The colourful wedding was well attended. Guests came from far and near, some from the U.K. and U.S.A. At the reception, held in Hadassah Event Place at Ojota, there was enough to eat and drink. Victor Udoh, writer with National Mirror newspaper, who acted as M.C., was on top of his game, as he got the event rolling seamlessly with jokes, and precise timing of various segments. There was no dull moment. When the DJ started spinning with Techno's "Duro", the place exploded with rapturous dancing.

Midway through the event, being curious, I asked Dcns Uche Dibia how she felt about her daughter, an Igbo from Delta State marrying a Yoruba man, Adedayo Olufemi Awojobi. Laughing, she replied : " Earlier on, many years ago, God told me we are pilgrims and strangers here on earth, so it does not matter to me where my daughter's husband come from, as long as they are together. Reason when my son told me he was marrying a white woman in the U.K., I had no objection."
