Bread Hawker Turned Sensational Model Gets a Modelling Contract By Caleb Jarikre.

Olajumoke, the bread seller turned model.

It's the stuff of which dreams are made, a modern day fairy-tale, if you will. What's this beautiful, sultry 27 years old mother of two, and a street bread hawker, doing on the glamorous Thisday Style magazine? How did she stumble into the limelight to play havoc with our imagination?

According to TY Bello, the celebrity photographer, who accidentally discovered her, " Olajumoke, a bread seller from the Sabo market bakery, walked by coincidence into our set of our Thisday style shoot for @tiniegram. The moment didn't look special at all. If anything she stood there a little confused. Some people asking her to leave the set and others asking her to stay. I signaled if it was ok to take her photograph and she agreed, and I pressed on my shutter so she could move ahead...

" I was wrong to have paid her such little attention. Every frame with her in it was perfect."

A trained hair-stylist from Ire in Osun state, she relocated to Lagos because she was unable to make enough profit from hair-styling to care for her two children. Her husband, a sliding door installer, was barely getting by. She spoke almost no English, though she could read and write Yoruba.

With the buzz generated from the Thisday cover spread, she had been offered a modelling contract through @godsonukaegbu from @fewmodels. @payporte had reached out to her to model on their next billboard campaign. A benefactor who chose to be unnamed had offered to foot the bill for her accommodation and education, as well as her child's. It's possible now for her husband to rejoin her along with their older five year child.

For Olajumoke Sunday who had nursed a secret dream to star in Yoruba movies, she is discovering pleasantly that dreams do indeed come true.
