2016 PERSONAL MANIFESTO FOR INCREDIBLE CHANGE AND EMPOWERMENT: TAKING RESPONSIBILITY! By Felix N.Jarikre.

You cannot navigate the crisis of change, despairing at the impossibility of the future, and at the same time, locked in the grip of nostalgia. I think it was John Maxwell who said: "Where there's no faith for the present, there's no power for the future." Prodded by what appears to be an unhealthy obsession to blame every of their failure, weakness or errors of judgement on the so-called missteps of the past Jonathan administration, the Buhari presidency takes the prize of taking the blame-game to another level of political brinksmanship. How do we explain  the failure to rescue the Chibok girls, as promised during electioneering, without denting Buhari's messianic commitment and magical success - according to the manual of Leadership by Blame-Game? "The last administration squandered all the money we earned when oil price was high. Money meant to buy arms to fight terrorists was looted. Please appreciate my efforts rather than looking for where to fault me (Buhari)" At every turn, this lamentable refrain with different variation is a sing-song on the lips of President Buhari. It does not matter to the president and his party that with the blame-game they play, they show unwillingness to take responsibility for the change they advocate. On a second thought, channelling this national abdication of responsibility seems to fit in with our new leaders' objective of getting the people to think they desperately need a Sainted Superman as Buhari to rescue them from the pit of despondency they had sunk into through their stupidity. Without question, there's a mental war of terror being waged to distract the people and weaken their resolve to insist on doing what is right for their lives. So permit yourself a healthy dose of optimism, and take responsibility for your life. Mahatma Ghandi is right: Be the change you seek! This new year, 2016, in order not to be swallowed up by a grand deception from powers-that be, chasing fantasies that mock your destiny, you need a robust manifesto for your change and empowerment.
REJECT THE BLAME-GAME: By playing the blame-game, you unwittingly sabotage that plan of yours meant to be a game-changer. Change means progress, improvement and development. Dissatisfaction and adversity are precursors of change. It's Albert Einstein who said the definition of insanity is to do the same thing one way all the time, and expect a different result. It is presupposed that change as a concept has inherent power with no room for blame-game. Blame-game shows weakness, helplessness and lack of responsibility. We must recognize there are adversarial forces bent to resist our desire for change. Yet there is no doubt that we can defeat these evil forces.
RENEW YOUR MIND: The word renew means to "restore to original state and reinforce." Romans12:2 says: Be not conformed to this world, but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God. Some of us had unwittingly embraced a culture of victimhood which must be changed by believing incredible, unimaginable things for our lives that we never before thought were possible. It is a delusion to think that one year is friendlier and more amenable to our dreams than the other. In truth, every new incoming year is cruelly and impersonally programmed to cage and tame our dreams. To liberate and empower your dreams for 2016, you must reject any conformity to the world's standards. (It's not your conformity but your transcendence that is required.) This is only possible when your mind is renewed. Taming the year 2016, and making it to cooperate with the manifestation of your dreams is a real possibility when you are transformed by your mind-renewal.
CAST AWAY FEARS: Until your mind is renewed, you'd be hampered and limited by fears. You might even have thought it perfectably normal and acceptable to feel inadequate, and recoil from some challenge, not realizing that fear is playing havoc with your mind. You are able to rationalize your discomfort in trying to take steps beyond some invisible barriers, not knowing that you fear your lack of resourcefulness. Having niggling desire to explore and exploit your talent, you have managed to adjust your expectations to align with your mental laziness. This disposition is allowed to remain because you are afraid to be criticized by people who disdain the change you should represent. Instead of engaging your talent, and bringing it to the table of negotiation as a solution-provider, to appease your fear, burying your talent seems to be an acceptable option. Still, waiting to be validated by people who are only comfortable with the status quo is taking you no where but the land of mediocrity. For how long are you going to pander to your fears, while you watch your life wasting away? Fear gets you enslaved and dominated by what you should control. The admirable persona of a hero(ine) that people everywhere wants to identify with is that he/she does not tolerate fear. Intrepid and daring, the hero(ine) tread where angels fear to go! The Almighty is certainly not going to cater or make provisions for your fears. To access His capability of rescuing you from shameful and perilous situations, you definitely cannot hoard your fears! During the reign of King Saul in ancient Israel, at a time, the country was defenseless and weapon-less under an attack. This dire situation arose because the Philistines never hesitated to search and destroy across the land any factory that manufactured swords, spears or whatever resembled an instrument of warfare. Weakened and terrified, the people went into hiding in caves and dens, unwilling to confront and engage their mortal enemies in battle. Soldiers deserted in droves. Despondency swept through the land. Casting away his fear, on what could be described as a suicide mission, Jonathan chose to expose his position in a bid to go over unto the Philistines' garrison and frontally attack them. Underscoring his action, he said: "For there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few." (see 1 Samuel 14:6) Facing his enemies, and climbing up with determination on his hands and feet, followed by his armour-bearer, Jonathan pounced and slew them. Nobody knew how the turn of events came about, but according to the Bible, there was a mysterious " great trembling in the host, the field and among all the people: the garrison and the spoilers also trembled, and the earth quaked." The adversarial multitude melted away, and they went on beating down one another. You see, until you cast away fear, and come into a resolution, like Jonathan, Jehovah Tear-Wiper cannot be your defender. Truly, your fears have managed sneakily to imprison your destiny because so far you have relied on your capability which is ultimately limited in every sense.
FIGHT FOR YOUR DESTINY: Reading, studying and meditating on the ancient scriptures over the years, shorn of every religious platitudes and rationalizations, I have come to one inescapable conclusion: that your destiny as the elect of God is to control wealth and riches while you are alive here on earth! (There's no salvation in heaven: salvation is only relevant on earth!) Late 2005, I was able to write and publish a book titled, How To Be A Wealth-Controller, financially sponsored mainly by a dear friend, John Abiodun Imevbore. Instead of being commended for my bold efforts, I was condemned in some circles for having the audacity to pen such a book. What's the grouse of my frenemies? That I had no credentials to put my name as the author of a book purporting to tell how people could come into wealth ordained by the Maker of the Universe. I had no car as I had sold my first one. I was trekking and moving from one place to the other on public bus. I was struggling to pay my rent. Certainly, in the arena of physicality, there was nothing about me to suggest I was a controller of wealth. Close friends were incensed, some showed their indifference by offering neither sympathy nor support, others mocked. Openly. To make matters worse, my health, to put it mildly, was bad. I was battling against a strange affliction with the symptoms of asthma. Anytime I had to speak, whether on radio or television to promote my book, trying to articulate and project the words in my mouth was a pain. To summarise, I was miserable, struggling against depression. My self-worth was in the trash-can. To drink a full and bitter cup of self-pity everyday was a constant temptation. One day I poured my heart out to a pastor friend concerning how I was maligned and misrepresented over my book. If I expected empathy and encouragement, I was rudely disappointed. My guy told me: " Pastor Felix, you had revelation, you saw it, but have no evidence of wealth. I bought your book, but I didn't read it. Because you have no evidence." I was not pacified. "But I teach the Bible, can't you see? The Holy Spirit gave me awesome revelations concerning wealth-control. Shouldn't I document it for generations to come?" Exasperated, my pastor friend said: "Where's your Hummer Jeep? Do you have any vehicle parked out there? Where are your designer suits and shoes? Are you spending money? What's that thing you have to authenticate what you write and speak about? Get real!" In no time, enthusiasm for the book nose-dived. I was drained. Unable to promote the book well, a best-selling status remained a mere day-dream. Why do I have to tell this story? Your destiny is inexorable, powerful and tangible: but your "eye of understanding" needs to be enlightened to receive a connection. Yet there are many adversaries of your soul, powers and principalities, that want to hijack, exchange and counterfeit it to your detriment. You fight because having seen what your destiny looks like, you refuse to settle for less, discounting the personal opinions and idle speculations of others who are ignorant of where you are coming from. The temporary contradictory condition you find yourself, either by commission or omission, should not determine how you project your persona. Fight without apology or explanation from the standpoint of your inexorable destiny, and not the weakness or uncertainty of your transitory condition. Fight by your speaking; fight by your writing; fight by your meditating; fight by your re-evaluating! You fight because you are accountable and representing your Creator who made you in His glorious image!

NO REASON TO DECLARE BANKRUPTCY AND FOLD UP! By FELIX N.JARIKRE.

Certainly, it could be downright demoralizing and distressing to find yourself in the ugly, embarrassing situation where your struggle to settle your debts has overwhelmed your ability to pay. No matter how you try to put your best face to it, and be upbeat, it is shameful and humiliating. It violates your sense of what is honourable and decent.

You might try to spin it, and pass it off as a learning curve on your path to success. Yet, the reality is that your exposure to this aggravating position goes sneakily to shake the foundation of your self-esteem, and crack your wall of self-confidence. It puts a question mark on your capacity to make wise decisions, and exercise sound judgements.

No award has ever been given to any man or woman classified as someone unlikely or unable to pay their debts. Its negative connotation fills you with silent dread. Yet to get a respite, you think that keeping the company of esteemed celebrities like Donald Trump and 50Cent who declared bankruptcy to secure legal protection, might not be such a bad thing after all. There are several legitimate reasons why people declare bankruptcy. Have you suffered any job loss due to resignation, termination or layoff ? Are you recovering from serious, wasting diseases or injuries that made your medical expenses to pile up ?  Have you recently gone through a divorce/separation where your assets are divided up, and you are required to pay certain amounts for the upkeep of your spouse ?  Whatever your reason, it must be admitted frankly that your thought to declare bankruptcy is not strange or new.

But the question must be asked: Is that the only feasible option? Is there no way out?  Three characters from the Bible play in the inner recesses of my mind as I write this. One is named Gideon. The other two are unnamed. Still there are valuable lessons to be learned from their lives.

At one time in Gideon’s ancient Israel, the people were oppressed and impoverished by their enemies, the Midianites. Gideon’s countrymen found their comfort zone in hiding, ashamed of their weakness, afraid too because they had no antidote against the unrelenting assault of their adversaries. Seizing every opportunity to invade and raid the land of Israel, the enemies destroyed and looted whatever they could, leaving nothing behind to sustain Gideon’s countrymen. Productivity was low and dismal; the prospect for growth was bleak. Israel tethered on the precipice of bankruptcy. When the people cried out of despair, a prophet was sent to them with a rebuke:  And I said unto you, I am the LORD your God: fear not the gods of the Amorites in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not obeyed my voice. (see the book of Judges 6:10)

Still Gideon was sent to deliver Israel, which he did. His insecurity and poverty mentality had to be supplanted by a new persona of bravery, resourcefulness and wealthy mentality created by God to enable the man achieve his assignment

Now the main lesson that we draw from the story for this topic is: LET YOUR BELIEF SYSTEM DROWN YOUR FEARS!   Your fear can lead you to compromise and counterfeit. INSTEAD OF HIDING FROM YOUR ENEMIES, PURSUE, OVERTAKE AND CONSUME THEM! (Psalm 18:37-44) We’d come to this later on.

In the book of 2 Kings 4, we saw a pathetic situation in which a widow watched almost helplessly how her two sons were about to be taken as slaves for the settlement of a debt left behind by her late husband who happened to be a prophet. As far as she was concerned, she was a bankrupt destitute. Having sought the intervention of Elisha, it took the interrogation of the prophet for her to realize that she still had a “pot of oil” in the house to trade with. Having confirmed that by pouring from the “pot of oil”, all the empty vessels that she was able to borrow were full with oil, she went and told Elisha, the man of God, who promptly said: “Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and the children of the rest.”

Memorable lesson: RATHER THAN SUFFER FROM A DESTITUTION OF MIND, YOU SHOULD NEVER FORGET THERE’S ALWAYS A POT OF OIL IN YOUR HOUSE YOU COULD MAGNIFY AND MULTIPLY, THEN SELL TO PAY OFF YOUR DEBT!

A steward was accused of wasting his master’s goods. Called upon to give an account, as his stewardship had been taken away, making him jobless, he said within himself: “I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. I am resolved what to do...” (see full story in the book of Luke 16:1-9)
Worthy lesson: TO BE RESOLVED IS TO KNOW THAT YOU HAVE PREVAILED EVEN BEFORE YOU START! Until you are resolved, you are directionless. When you are not resolved on a thing, you are helpless. Indeed to be speculating and questioning puts help far away from you. To be resolved prevents you from a beggarly existence, and being a case study of bankruptcy!

Again, three lessons to bear in mind to fortify yourself against declaring bankruptcy and folding up your life. (1) Your belief system must drown your fears. (2) Abandon destitution of mind. (3) Be resolved before you make a move.

Now, what does it really mean to believe? It means to trust or accept a thing as true.
BELIEVING IS NOT DECEPTION.
BELIEVING IS NOT TRICKERY.
BELIEVING IS NOT FAKERY.
BELIEVING IS NOT BLUFFING.
BELIEVING IS WAR!!

Starting where you are, it’s only believing, not seeing, that can save anyone or anything from disintegration, bankruptcy or death. Yes, it takes believing what is tangible and describable on the other side of eternity! It takes believing in your heart to drown your fears, jettison destitution of mind, and bring resolution into your life

What we are talking about is not a situation where we believe what another person claims that he or she could verify by their own sight. Your belief system must originate from your own heart, certainly not another person’s philosophy or make-believe!

SEEING IS DEATH. “ To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (Romans 8:6)
BELIEVING IS LIFE. “ We having the same spirit of faith...: we also believe, and therefore speak...While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen...but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Cor.4:13-18)

To obey the voice of God means primarily to speak what you believe! YOUR REFUSAL TO SPEAK WHAT YOU BELIEVE WILL MAKE YOU FEARFUL AND VICTIMISED, like Gideon’s countrymen.

So now you can reverse whatever that is driving you toward the edge of bankruptcy. You must refuse to fold up your life. Let your eyes of understanding be enlightened. Yes, my friend, there’s something in your house right now that you can MAGNIFY, MULTIPLY AND SELL to pay your debt.

...There is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (see book of Isaiah 40:28-31)

FEMI-FANI KAYODE: " President Buhari has turned himself to judge and jury." By Melody Inejiri

Femi-Fani Kayode.

Femi Fani-Kayode, an ex-minister of aviation, reacted to President Buhari’s comment, during his maiden media chat, on security agencies flouting court orders.

Asked on his take concerning the accusation by many Nigerians that the security agencies under his administration disobey court orders, the President said, “If you know the atrocities committed by the people granted bail, then you’d understand.”

He said also if they jump jail because they are allowed to go, it will be a problem for Nigeria.

Taking to Twitter, Femi Fani-Kayode blasted that Nigeria is no longer a democracy as the President has turned himself to judge and jury.

In his Twitter post, he wrote: "ANYONE THAT WATCHED THE PRES. MEDIA CHAT AND THAT STILL BELIEVES WE ARE OPERATING A DEMOCRACY WHERE THE RULE OF LAW PREVAILS IS INSANE.

" BUHARI HAS TURNED HIMSELF INTO A JUDGE AND JURY AS HE HAS ATTEMPTED TO JUSTIFY THE FLOUTING OF COURT ORDERS BY HIS SECURITY AGENCIES. EVIL.

DAVIDO'S BABY MAMA DRAMA. By Caleb Jarikre.

Davido.

The break-up of any relationship, especially with the involvement of an innocent child, is not always a pleasant spectacle. But when sordid details of what should be kept under wraps in this crumbling relationship are suddenly thrown into the public space, it becomes utterly distressing.

How did David Adeleke otherwise known as Davido, popular award-winning American-born singer, son of the wealthy and powerful Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, fall into the trap of having to wash his dirty linen in public concerning Sophie Momodu, baby mama of his seven months daughter, Imade Aurora? Sophie Momodu, by the way, is the cousin of Ovation’s Dele Momodu. Did Davido make himself a predator out of the typical arrogance of the rich and powerful where they feel they could not be held prisoners within the limits of human decency; and they could do anything with no question asked?

Now accusations and bitter recriminations are flying in all directions without restraints. How did it come to this? From being at daggers drawn over the custody of their daughter, Imade, Sophie’s lawyer had filed a petition to NAPTIP against the Adelekes for alleged abduction of the baby. Without her consent, the 23-year-old international singer planned to travel to the United States with their daughter, she alleged.

Apparently, despite the well-intentioned interventions of family friends, the relationship has deteriorated to the point where Davido and Sophie are now aggressive enemies. Davido has lashed out on social media: “ I met Sophia when I was barely 21 years old. She was many years older than me and was able to manipulate me and exploit my youth, naivety and generosity. Sophia is the mother of my daughter, and no more! She never would be my wife as she was never qualified for that status. Her background is very dissimilar from mine, and she has very paltry education and equally diminished physical attributes.” Ouch, that was cold, Davido!

Having knowledge that Davido had collected an American passport for Imade, and the rumour that the baby was being abducted to America, Sophie hatched plans to abort the trip. Having being dragged into the fray, Dele Momodu, publisher also of The Boss newspaper in U.K., tried to get family friends to intervene as he wanted to avoid a confrontation. He headed to the airport to alert the Immigration authorities and Emirate. Hear what he said: “ As predicted, the Adelekes arrived the airport with the baby where Immigration had laid in wait for them. Coco came forward and was asked who the mother of the baby was and she claimed ownership and her passport and that of the baby were taken away by Immigration. Her dad was alerted and he came to the office of the Comptroller with others to try and rescue the passports but the Immigration stood their grounds.

“ I saw him made frantic calls but he gave up after the flight departed. He repeated the same boast that no one could ever take the baby from him and I told him to stop talking like God. No one likes a fight but we’ve been treated shabbily and had to stop the charade. We could not be intimidated and everyone at the airport expressed shock and horror at such a brazen attempt to export a human being only seven months without the mother.

“ We thank the officers who rescued us from a powerful family. We are always for peace, justice and equity. No one threatened the Adelekes with any expose unless they are using reversed psychology.”

Sophie Momodu and her baby,Imade.

According to Dele Momodu, on 11th July 2015, Sophie was tricked to Coco (Davido’s sister) Adeleke’s house with her baby, Imade. But on getting there, the baby was taken from her forcefully, being threatened never to bother to return. Anxious to avoid a disgraceful encounter, she left only to return the next day for her baby, but was stopped from gaining access into the house by armed policemen, warned sternly and threatened again not to return to take the baby.

While he earlier maintained a dignified silence, and kept his distance from the Adelekes at the news of Sophie’s safe delivery as he was not prepared to be seen as forcing the issue of marriage on Davido, Dele Momodu was actually relieved when Davido’s father called the publisher on September 10, 2015 asking for a meeting.  During the meeting, Dr. Adeleke stated that Davido’s paternity could not be questioned as the baby passed the DNA test by over 98 per cent.

According to Dele Momodu in his words: “ Dr. Adeleke explained why it took some time to call me and I said I understood. Dr. Adeleke said the baby was discovered to have traces of marijuana in her during medical test and said he believed Sophie and David were smokers and  he needed to protect the child from two irresponsible parents, as he described them. He told the gathering that the baby would be under temporary custody and observation. He directed that Sophie would come to his house every Sunday to see her baby and the family agreed. He promised to pay Sophie a monthly upkeep. We thanked him for his kindness. He promised to buy her a car. We were grateful for his generosity.”

From left,Dele Momodu, on his immediate left, Sophie.

Sophie, on her part, in a series of posts she made on Twitter, claimed she regretted her love affair with Davido, alleging that she was abused and threatened by him over the child: “ Davido is the most useless man any woman can meet.”

Money appeared not to be the problem. Davido said: “As for the person of Sophia, I paid a two-year rent for her apartment at Lekki and she receives a monthly allowance of  N300,000 naira from me ever since Imade was born. This December, Sophia received N500,000 naira as her allowance and Christmas bonus.”

Claiming that the baby was infested with cannabis through her mother’s breasts, he had decided to take her for extensive treatment in American Hospital at Dubai with all travel expenses and medical costs borne by him. They had separated so there was no way he could travel with Sophie.

He appeared to foreclose any hope of reconciliation between him and his baby mama. He said: “ I am 23 years old now. Sophia appropriated me at 21. I have just unbridled my life from her diabolical and shameless stranglehold. She should find her own life and leave me alone.”

The only option for well-wishers it seems is to lift a heart-felt prayer for these two people and their baby.
